An ABC short documentary from the broadcaster’s Landline series, “Koala Recovery: The sanctuary helping nature recover from bushfire”, highlights the efforts of the Two Thumbs Wildlife Trust in supporting koala recovery in southern New South Wales.

Following the devastating Black Summer bushfires, which killed and displaced an estimated three billion native animals, the sanctuary has been instrumental in rehabilitating koalas and restoring their natural habitat. Through dedicated conservation work, including habitat restoration and wildlife care, the sanctuary has begun aiding the recovery of koalas but also supporting the restoration of the broader ecosystem and the local community.
