The Nature Conservation Council of NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service, as part of the Hotspots Fire Project, have published the second fact sheet in their fuel fact sheet series, which enables landholders to easily understand how fuel on their land can influence the factors of fire behaviour.

The Hotspots Fire Project has been helping landholders since 2005, running workshops with rural communities demonstrating how fire can be used as a land management tool. These fuel fact sheets explores the effect of fuel on fire management.

Fact Sheet 1, published previously, explored the basics of what is fuel and how it accumulates over time.

Fact Sheet 2 includes a guide to the Australian Fire Danger Ratings, and the three factors that influence bush fire risk; 1) topography 2) weather and 3) fuel.
