Response to large-scale ecological disaster

The Threatened Species Recovery Hub (part of the National Environmental Science Programme) has produced a collaborative report for how to approach the conservation response to the recent fires and their ecological impacts.

This is an important document complied by many leaders in the field and should provide a starting framework for anyone undertaking ecological recovery work after the recent fire disaster.

The report outlines the key stages of response from: acting during the catastrophe, short term care for wildlife, issues with coordination and communication, protecting refuges and preparing for the next catastrophe.
