An educational video on four factors that affect wildfire has been created by research fellow Hamish Clarke. Hamish Clarke is working alongside Professor Ross Bradstock at the University of Wollongong on a project that examines the effectiveness of prescribed burning in reducing the risk of bushfire across southern Australia. After watching the Climate Dogs videos produced by the Department of Primary Industries, Hamish was inspired to create his own educational video on the factors that affect the creation of large wildfires. Meet ‘Wes’ (weather), ‘Phil’ (fuel), ‘Iggy’ (ignition) and ‘Des’ (dryness) and learn how they all interact in the video below.
